Gerad Gobel and Alexis Rorabaugh met over eight years ago cooking at Bar Agricole in San Francisco. Realizing they work great together both in and out of the kitchen, they soon began planning what would eventually become Italianette. Gobel, an Illinois-native, and Rorabaugh, a world traveler, decided to make Chicago their home in 2014, knowing it was a possibility to open their future restaurant here. Gerad and Alexis previously served as Executive Chefs at the SoHo House’s public and private restaurants, respectively. Italianette will provide Chicago with a new spot for delicious Italian cuisine all at an approachable price point. By combining each of their unique and highly-respected culinary backgrounds as well as their love for pasta making, Italianette will use high quality ingredients to create a menu of original takes on the classics that are rich in flavor yet approachable in style. The restaurant will open with a selection of antipasti, pasta, rotating daily specials and Italian-inspired drinks and desserts.
